Dear People of God,

How are you all? Hope, you are well and healthy. I am praying for you all every day. On this fourth Sunday of ordinary time, the Liturgy of Word of God continues to encourage us to listen attentively to Christ our savior. Jesus is our teacher who speaks with authority.

Our first reading from the Book of Deuteronomy is one of those passages in the bible referred to as the messianic prophesies. Through this prophecy from Moses, God promised us the messiah. This promise was fulfilled in Christ. On his own part, Christ called authentic ministers to be his prophet. So, we need to pay attention to these authentic prophets. Hence: “Those who will not listen to the words of the prophet…shall be answerable to me for it.”

Dear People of God,

I would like to write some reflections on the basis of this third Sunday’s readings as usually. These readings encourage us to re-examine and change our ways in order to avoid the imminent wrath of God, and to enjoy his mercy. They equally remind us of its urgency (in relation to time), which is one theme that runs through and unifies the three readings of this Sunday.

In today's first reading Jonah laments, “Only forty days, and Nineveh will be destroyed”, Paul reminds us in today's second reading that: “Our time is growing short”, while Jesus Christ proclaims in today's: “The time has come…the kingdom of God is close at hand.” So, we must not hold tenaciously to this passing world. Finally, it encourages us to collaborate with Jesus as: “Fishers of Men,” in order to transform and save our world.

Sincerely I thank all those who helped to remove Crib decorations in all our three Churches. I could see your love, enthusiasm, dedication and commitment towards the running of our three parishes. It is really a great of moment of life in USA and appreciate you all.

In this second Sunday of ordinary time, we hear the voice of God louder as always, inviting us to be his disciples. Today, the liturgy of Word of God reminds us that God’s call is real and that, God knows and calls us personally by our names. Thus, it encourages us to respond effectively to this call with our body, soul and spirit.

I would like to write about our Cathedral Capital Campaign because Our Bishop Callahan has asked all pastors to share this message. It is the launch of the La Crosse Diocese. Christ Our Cornerstone campaign to restore the steeple and facilitate other restorations to our beloved St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral at La Crosse.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,

I especially thank all those who decorated the Cribs and Churches in all our three parishes. I also sincerely thank you all who participated in Christmas Masses. It was a good attendance.

Today we celebrate the solemnity of Epiphany, and in a most special way the day of the three kings who brought Jesus very costly and symbolic gifts of gold, mire, and frankincense. The term Epiphany is of Greek origin, epiphaninen. It is a verb which means “to reveal,” or “to manifest.”

This first Sunday of Christmas is dedicated to the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. It is the model of every true Christian Family. It is the nucleus of the human society and the place where life and learning begin. The importance of today’s celebration both in the life of the Church and our society cannot be underestimated.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

The Sunday of Advent is called Gaudete Sunday or Sunday of Joy. This day takes its common name from the Latin word Gaudete “Rejoice”, the first word of the introit of this day’s Mass: This may be translated as: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say, rejoice.

The readings of today are all filled with Joy and Hope in the coming Lord. The prophet Isaiah declared that he will greatly rejoice in the Lord and his whole being shall exult in His God (61,10). This is because the Holy one of Israel, the Lord who comes has been anointed with the holy spirit to bring good news to all those who are oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor… and comfort to all who mourn (Isaiah 61:1-2).

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,

A voice of one crying out in the desert: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths”. (Mk 1:3).

On this second week of Advent, the liturgy of Word of God calls us to reflect on the reason of Christ’s coming, and on what we are expected to do this season. Today, our readings focus on the nearness of the Lord’s coming and the need for repentance for the forgiveness of sins. So, one very important question today is, why is Christ coming? He is coming because he loves us. He is coming to save us. He is coming to make all things new. He has a mission, and that mission is for us, and for our salvation.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Good morning! Today is the first Sunday of Advent and also first day of a new liturgical calendar, year B. Advent is a season of hope and a period during which as Christians we await the fulfillment of the promise of God through his prophets. In addition to being a season of hope, it is equally, a season of patience and prayer. During these four weeks, we are expected to prepare for the birth of Jesus Christ our Messiah. It suffices to note that while we prepare physically, the most important must be the spiritual preparation.

Today is the thirty fourth as well as last Sunday of Ordinary Time Year A. Most importantly, it is the solemnity of Christ the King. This Feast of Christ the King was established by Pope Pius XI in 1925. The feast is intended to proclaim in a resounding, striking and effective way Christ’s royalty over individuals, families, society, governments, and nations.

Dear People of God,

As we come closer to the end of this liturgical year A, the liturgy of Word of God, encourages us to remain faithful and dedicated to Christ our Savior. As good servants, we must be devoted to Him. Also, we must be ready to render full account of our talents to Him.

Today’s first reading for this Sunday is from proverbs. The virtuous woman of Proverbs radiates as a bright star. The term “virtuous” simply refers to strength, efficiency, or ability. Here, it refers to both spiritual and moral strength, as well as to the firmness of character (Ruth 3:11). So, she is virtuous because of the strength of her character and devotion.

All money received over our target is returned to our parishes to be used for our own programs and needs. Thank you!!

In this thirty second Sunday, the readings encourage us to seek the Lord and always be ready to welcome him. God Himself is Wisdom. He who finds and receives Him, will have the fullness of life in Christ Jesus. Therefore, we must ask God to grant us a share in His wisdom in order to know what to do at all time.

The number and variety of programs and offices it funds is too long to list here. However, some of the various programs are of special interest are listed here. It is amazing how broad the scope of Diocesan involvement is! When you receive the pledge card in the mail, keep in mind all the people you are helping with your generous donation.
